RIKE STEYER

The native-born American grew up in Lübeck. After passing her A-levels in 2001 she wound up in Rostock for her business studies. She discovered her Passion for film and completed several Internships during this period (amongst others at ProSieben, Sabelli Film und Fernsehproduktions GmbH, Cologne Film) as well as a four-week Filmclass at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. 2006 she terminated her business studies successfully and moved to Potsdam-Babelsberg. There an Internship at „Gute Zeiten – Schlechte Zeiten“ brought her closer to her dreamjob. The postgraduate studies in Filmproducing at the Hamburg Media School (2006 – 2008) finally paved her the way into the industry. Her final film „Schautag“ already received numerous awards. Following the studies she worked as a freelancer Producer as well as a Script/Continuity and with her in December 2009 founded company Skalar Film GmbH she already realised several projects…

From September 2010 until January 2011 she participated in the workshop „International Producing“ at the ifs Cologne under the direction of Simon Perry. She also worked for the Hamburg publishing house Gruner + Jahr at their video section from November 2010 until June 2011.

In November and December 2020 Rike Steyer has successfully completed the certification „Green Consultant Film & TV“ at the IHK Munich.
